Time Cop
Directed by Peter Hyams, 1994

Jean Claude Van Damme returns to the silver screen once again to make the world safe for the rest of us, except that this time, he's got to save it from it's own future. Van Damme plays Max Walker, a cop working in the Washington, DC area and happily married in 1994.

On the same day that time travel is invented, he and his wife are brutally attacked at their home, leaving him for dead and blowing up his house with his wife inside. Jump ahead 10 years to 2004 where Agent Walker working for the TEC (Time Enforcement Commission) has just found out that Senator McComb has been using time travel to subsidize his campaign for the presidency and to actually win the election.

After several major changes in the time stream, the final battle actually occurs back in 1994 where the senator sent his men to kill Walker the first time. Of course, with the incredible powers of his feet, Walker is able to restore the timeline to it's original form, which includes his wife and son in 2004, and does not include Senator McComb.

This movie has got to be one of the best Van Damme movies ever made! Not only is it well thought out, but the time travel does not become too confusing or ever make you say "Yeah, right!". Along with awesome special effects (done by Industrial Light and Magic) for the time travel, the explosions and pyrotechnics are as bright and loud as ever. One of the best effects in the whole movie is when Van Damme cuts the face of the Senator from the past and we get to see the face of the Senator from the future grow a new scar immediately.

Time Cop is a well made, clever, violent, time travel adventure. Time Cop will be quite watchable for many Sci-Fi viewers. And van Damme fans will get a KICK out of this flick!
