21.05.2009 Jean Claude Van Damme
and Vinnie Jones kick it in "Weapon".
The
Muscles from Brussels and that big,
bald-head British dude are going to kick
ass in a movie called “Weapon.”
Action stars Jean Claude Van Damme and
Vinnie Jones are going to play “rival
assassins who form an uneasy alliance,”
according to The Hollywood Reporter.
They will be directed by Russell Mulcahy,
who did the first two Highlander movies
and just finished Give ‘Em Hell, Malone.
In “Weapon,” Jones will be a highly
skilled sharpshooter. Van Damme will
play a character skilled with a knife (which
has me hoping there’ll be a
knife-in-toes fight, a la the immaculate
Double Team). Backed by the DEA, they
join forces to take down a drug cartel.
Considering the power behind this film,
it is likely that it will be released to
the big screen, which will be Van
Damme’s first in a decent amount of time
(not counting the limited release, JCVD).
Regardless, Jones has proven to be an
undeniable butt kicker, and he should
make for a good pairing against someone
facing a bit of a “resurgence” like Van
Damme. Yeah!
Recently a new Van Damme film is
announced: Karate. We now have the first
promo poster and plot!
A
legendary karate world champion (Van
Damme), known as "The Piston" because of
the speed of his legs, is famous and
wealthy and has the martial arts world
as his feet. But his ego takes control
and his world begins to crumble around
him. He loses his family and his life
goes into a downward spiral. Before
long, this one time champion is living
like a bum on the streets of Los
Angeles.
Then, the Piston meets KK, an internet
fight promoter. KK has a dream... to
find a fighter good enough to win the
prestigious freestyle mega fighting
championship in Las Vegas. The Piston
returns to his karate roots in Japan to
find the fighting edge he needs to
become a champion again. He comes back
to Las Vegas for his make it or break it
fight, for the fight of his life in the
cage against the undefeated young
champion from New York "The Bulldozer."
This classic, gritty,
riches-to-rags-to-riches story has a
heartfelt, nail-biting,
edge-of-your-seat finale. It is one of
the greatest fight movies of all time,
appealing to a wide-ranging,
new-generation audience and especially
to the millions of karate and martial
arts fans around the world who are
hungry for a new martial arts epic in
the tradition of "Bloodsport".
This week starts the filmfestival of
Cannes (13 to 24 of may). So big chance
for more news on Van Dammes latest
project The Eagle Path, Universal
Soldier 3 and Karate!

09.05.2009 The Eagle Path Movie
Poster and Trailer
And finally here they are: the official
movieposter and trailer of The Eagle
Path!
Jean-Claude Van Damme will fight fire
with fire in the battle against Chechen
terrorist Basayev in the new action
drama ‘Universal Soldiers: the Next
Generation.'
Directed by John Hyams, the film
revolves around die-hard soldiers Luc
Deveraux and Andrew Scott, played by Van
Damme and Dolph Lundgren.
They find themselves on opposite sides,
as both join the battle against the
Chechen militant Basayev who takes
control of the Chernobyl power station,
and threatens to unleash a poisonous
radioactive cloud unless his demands are
met.
Both Lundgren and Van Damme starred in
the original 1992 drama ‘Universal
Soldier’ from German director Roland
Emmerich. Jean-Claude also portrayed Luc
Deveraux in the 1999 'Universal Soldier:
the Return' by Mic Rodgers.
I found these two little pictures of the
project 'The Monk" in my mailbox today.
They are so rare, I thougt to share them
immediately with you. The movie
would be directed by Ringo Lam (Maximum
Risk) and had a budget of $25 Millions.
Van Damme did a lot of promo for this
movie on Cannes filmfestival, in 2001,
but the film was cancelled.
05.04.2009 You love dogs ??? Adopt
a Van Damme dog!
Jean-Claude Van Damme has never hidden
his passion for dogs and finds it
insensitive when there is neglecting of
animals in distress. Thus, during the
shooting in Bulgaria, Mexico and
Thailand, he saved eight of the street
dogs; some of them were seriously
wounded. The star has offered them
medical treatment and repatriation at a
kennel in Belgium Brabant Wallon. But he
has already five dogs and cannot keep
the other eight he has rescued. That is
why he offers now a chance to those who
wish to adopt any of those eight. As
said, the dogs are in Belgium, are in
good health now and of course for free.
The new "Universal Soldier" flick isn't
going direct-to-DVD after all. Because
of the involvement of Van Damme and
Lundgren, Sony will be releasing it
theatrically. This will be Van Damme's
second theatrical release in twelve
months (the other being "J.C.V.D") -
that's quite a leap forward for the
Muscles from Brussels!
Van Damme is having a good time on the
set of Universal Soldier 3. The official site writes:
On shooting, Jean-Claude Van Damme and
Dolph Lundgren are back in this sequel
that will complete the trilogy
of « Universal Soldier » movie series. Everything
will be perfectly implemented to bring
the project the best elements there is:
huge budget, new scenario and much
more. The film is directed by John Hyams
(son of director of photography, Peter
Hyams, who previously directed « Timecop
» and « Sudden Death »). Luc Deveraux (JCVD)
who has been living almost a normal life
with a regular job, will be recalled
once again to cope a new generation of
uncontrollable Universal Soldiers...

20.02.2009 New pictures The Eagle
Path
Added 16 new pictures to our gallery of
'The Eagle Path'.
08.02.2009 Jean Claude Van Damme: I need success to win
back my son.
HE is best known as the all-action hero in
hit movies Timecop, Street Fighter and
Universal Soldier.
But since his heyday more than 15 years ago,
JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME has appeared in a
series of duds.
He has also gone through one of the most
bitter divorces in Hollywood, which resulted
in him losing access to his youngest son,
Nicholas, 13.
Now, though, The Muscles From Brussels is
back with a vengeance in JCVD — which is
getting rave reviews and being compared with
Mickey Rourke’s triumphant return in The
Wrestler.
And Jean-Claude has a bigger incentive than
most stars to make it back to the top.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, he
says: “The only way I can bring my son back
is to be successful again as they were
saying to him, ‘Your father is a loser’.”
Jean Claude van Damme has said he would
like to make sequels to Bloodsport and
Double Impact. Van Damme told The
Guardian he would consider revisiting
his former career - but on one condition.
"I am planning on making sequels to
Bloodsport and Double Impact but the
action films I will make in the future
will be more believable and
character-based. I am now on my second
cycle of fame, and I want to make films
that smell real and are truthful," he
said.
But he said he is no longer the 'Muscles
From Brussels' fans might expect: "When
you see me in JCVD, the way I am in that
film, it is very difficult for me to go
back to doing three flips in the air and
landing on the table saying, 'I'm Jean
Claude van Damme'."

thanks to Rob2K.
Today we did upload 191 pictures, send
to us by Rob2K. Thanks to him. Not all
these pictures are new on this site, but
we upload them on request of some
members of VanDammeFan.net.
You did see the first pics from JCVD's
new movie 'The Eagle Path' and now it's
time to read the plot:
"JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME fresh off of the
critical acclaim he received for "J.C.V.D",
now is directing, writing, producing and
starring in "THE EAGLE PATH" AKA "FULL
LOVE".
In the film he portrays "Frenchy", an
emotionally lost Ex-GI turned taxi
driver somewhere in South-East Asia
where he crosses paths with "Sofia",
played by Spanish actress (CLAUDIA
BASSOLS), a woman whose mysterious life
mesmerizes him drawing him into a world
where he must protect her
from an unhealthy relationship with high
class and vicious business owner "Soli",
(ADAM KARST), and maybe even herself.
With the help of his Best friend, "Bobby
Jackson" (JOSEF CANNON) the alcoholic,
paraplegic former Military specialist.
They set out on a path together, "THE
EAGLE PATH"
that could free them all from the self
imposed prison they each find themselves
in."

03.01.2009 JCVD release on DVD
(UK)
JCVD the highly-anticipated new DVD from
Jean-Claude Van Damme, where he stars in
the role he was born to play... as
Jean-Claude Van Damme. JCVD is released
exclusively on DVD through Revolver
Entertainment on Monday 2nd February
2009 in the UK.
JCVD shows the world’s favourite action
hero as you have never seen him before
…living the life of an ordinary guy. Set
as a parody of his life, he has no
money, battling his ex-wife over custody
of their daughter and then dealing with
the final insult of losing a lead role
in the next big film to his arch-rival,
Steven Seagal – who makes the ultimate
sacrifice by cutting off his pony tail.
JCVD already has a cult following after
securing high praise and reviews on the
International Film Circuit and being
released across the world. In JCVD, the
action hero uses his cult status and
iconic scenes from his career history to
save the day and overcome his biggest
challenge.
Jean-Claude commented:”JCVD is very
different to all my other films, it
shows a different side to my life and my
acting abilities in ways that are
dramatic, realistic and humorous".
JCVD is directed by Mabrouk El Mechri
and written by Frédéric Bénudis and
Christophe Turpin and is available to
buy on DVD from Monday 2nd February

12.12.2008 Van Damme second
in Time's Top 10 Movie Performances
At the end of the year we can conclude
that 2008 was a great year for
Jean-Claude van Damme. Also Time's
Magazine is impressed by Van Damme. Each
year Time's makes various Top 10 list of
the year, and also there's a Top 10
Movie Performances. And guess what...
Van Damme's second! Here is wat Time.com
writes about Van Damme's movie J.C.V.D:
The Muscles from Brussels: a best actor?
An actor, even? In 25 years of martial
arts melodramas, he's displayed fast
kicks, a surly-seraphic demeanor and an
uneasy command of English. But in this
low-budget French-language thriller shot
in his home town, Van Damme is superb at
playing himself, or, as director Mabrouk
el Mechri would have it, a
semi-realistic version of same: a
worn-down ex-star who gets involved in a
bank heist with tough guys eager to
exploit his residue of celebrity. The
wow moment is a six-minute take of Van
Damme confessing his sins to the camera:
a brave, bravura exhibition of shouting,
tears, emotional scab-pulling. Is this
wrenching revelation factual? Is it
fake? Let's call it fake-tual, and, for
now, call Jean Claude Van Damme a bold,
gifted actor.
